Taking Part in Europe’s Sustainable Fashion Initiative

The European Commission, as part of its broader sustainability program and its more specific initiatives on textiles and fashion, launched several actions. I had the honor of representing Greece in this campaign, which ran from January to April 2023.

In January 2023, I traveled to Belgium for two important meetings alongside other fashion representatives from across Europe. Our first stop was Brussels, where we met with Commissioner Virginijus Sinkevičius and participated in the Youth Dialogue. During this dialogue, we all had the opportunity to ask questions about the strategies the European Commission plans to implement to bring sustainability to fashion.

The second day took us to Antwerp for the campaign’s Kick-Off Event. In a celebratory atmosphere, we connected with one another, participated in group discussions, and shared our mutual commitment to environmental and human rights issues.
